🚛 Party Go Round Driver Training

Welcome to the Party Go Round Driver Training program! This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about being a driver with our team — from how we show up for customers to how we load a truck.

1. Welcome & Overview

Friendly Introduction

  • Thanks for being here! Today is about getting comfortable with how things work — not a test.

  • We’re here to answer questions, practice, and make sure you leave feeling confident.

Our Mission

  • We don’t just deliver inflatables — we deliver memories.

  • Families and kids count on us to make their day special, and how we show up matters.

What We’ll Cover Today

  • Where everything is in the shop

  • How the driver app works

  • How to load trucks safely and efficiently

Expectations (Framed Positively)

  • Teamwork: We rely on each other to succeed.

  • Appearance: Look sharp, clean, and professional.

  • Punctuality: Be on time to work and to the customer’s home.

  • Customer Service: A smile goes a long way.

Encouragement

  • Nobody gets it perfect on day one.

  • Training will continue with ride-alongs and shadowing.

  • The goal is to leave today with a good understanding of how we operate and know that we’ll support you as you grow.

2. Professionalism: Appearance & Punctuality

Why It Matters

  • First impressions count. Customers form opinions the second they see you.

  • Appearance and timeliness show respect and professionalism.

Appearance

  • Clean clothes (Party Go Round shirt/hat if available).

  • Closed-toe shoes only.

  • No ripped jeans, offensive logos, or dirty clothing.

  • Good hygiene — presentable and professional.

Punctuality

  • Be on time to the shop — the crew depends on you.

  • Be on time to the customer — parents and kids are waiting.

  • Plan ahead: traffic, fuel, and setup delays.

  • Rule of thumb: “If you’re early, you’re on time. If you’re on time, you’re late.”

The Bigger Picture

  • Customers remember and recommend companies that show up on time and look professional.

  • Reliability and appearance build trust.

3. Shop Walkthrough

Purpose

  • The shop is our home base — organization makes everything run smoothly.

  • Every item has a place. A sloppy load = a sloppy day.

Key Areas

  • Stakes & Mallets → Count what you need, return them to bins.

  • Extension Cords & Tarps → Wrap cords neatly, keep them clean/dry. Tarps protect inflatables and kids.

  • Blowers → Match blower size to inflatable, carry properly, never by the cord.

  • Ratchet Straps & Dollies → Use correctly and safely; no misusing equipment.

  • Cleaning Supplies → Inflatables go out clean every time.

  • Safety Gear → Gloves, reflective vests, first aid kit.

Culture of Organization

  • Take what you need, put it back where it belongs.

  • End-of-day: no mess left for the next crew.

4. Driver App Training

Why It Matters

  • The app keeps jobs organized, customers updated, and protects us from mistakes.

Step-by-Step

  1. Login & Dashboard → Check jobs, routes, notes.

  2. Job Details → Review customer info, special notes.

  3. Job Status Updates →

    • En Route → On Site → Delivered → Picked Up

    • Keep customers informed & document everything.

  1. Photo Uploads → Take clear setup and pickup photos (protects us from disputes).

  2. Navigation → Launch maps, check whole day’s route.

  3. Customer Communication → Be polite and professional.

  4. End of Day → All jobs marked complete, photos uploaded.

Practice

  • We’ll run a mock job together so you can practice using the app.

5. Loading Trucks

Why It Matters

  • Safe, organized, balanced loads = smooth setups and no damage.

Preparation

  • Double-check the job list.

  • Stage items before loading.

Loading Order

  1. Heaviest items (inflatables) first, stacked flat.

  2. Medium items (blowers, tables, generators).

  3. Small items (cords, stakes, tarps).

  4. Fragile/clean items on top.

  5. Leave first-drop inflatable accessible.

Securing the Load

  • Use ratchet straps — snug but not over-cranked.

  • Balance the weight left to right.

  • No loose items rolling around.

Hands-On Practice

  • Each group will practice loading a mock delivery.

  • Review together, correct mistakes, and try again if needed.

6. Wrap-Up & Expectations

Recap

  • You learned shop organization, app usage, truck loading, appearance, and punctuality.

  • Today wasn’t about perfection — it was about familiarity.

Professional Standards

  • Appearance → Look professional.

  • Punctuality → Always on time.

  • Customer Service → Friendly, respectful.

  • Teamwork → Communicate and help each other.

Next Steps

  • Start with ride-alongs to shadow experienced drivers.

  • Gradually take on more responsibility.

  • Move toward leading deliveries once confident.

Closing Message

  • You’re not just moving equipment — you’re creating memories.

  • Customers remember professionalism, timeliness, and friendliness.

Setup Location Guide

🎉 Party Go Round – Setup Location Guide

Step 1: Safety First

  • ✅ At least 3–5 ft clearance on all sides
  • ✅ Ground must be level & free of sticks, rocks, holes, roots
  • ✅ No overhead hazards (trees, gutters, powerlines)
  • ✅ Anchor points clear (stakes/weights will fit properly)

Step 2: Function

  • ⚡ Power source within 50–100 ft, cord not blocking walkways
  • 💧 Water hookup: Hose should reach easily & flow downhill away from house
  • 🔄 Access paths clear for setup/takedown (not blocking gates or sheds)

Step 3: Customer Experience

  • 👀 Parents should be able to see kids easily (deck, patio, or kitchen window line of sight)
  • 📸 Try to make it look good in the yard—centered, not shoved in a corner
  • 🎶 Keep blowers and hoses tucked off to the side whenever possible

Quick Tips

  • 👉 Stand where the parents will sit → Can you see the entrance/slide clearly?
  • 👉 Look for where water will pool → Avoid low spots
  • 👉 If unsure, ask:
“We usually recommend here so it’s safest and easiest to watch the kids. Does that work for you?”

Visual Reference (add photos/icons when ready)

  • ✅ Waterslide landing aimed downhill away from house
  • ❌ Waterslide draining toward foundation
  • ✅ Bounce house centered with clear parental line of sight
  • ❌ Bounce house hidden behind trees
  • ✅ Blower tucked behind fence
  • ❌ Blower in the middle of the yard

  • ✅ Review safety rules (one at a time on slide, no flips, keep your caboose inside).

  • ✅ Point out breaker switch and blower cord.

  • ✅ Confirm pickup window with customer.

DELIVERY STEPS (Videos provided below)

Pre-Arrival Communication:
Send a text message to the customer at least 30 minutes before your estimated time of arrival to ensure they are prepared for the delivery. This message should include your name, your company's name, and the expected time of arrival (15 minute window).   Something like this is great:  "Hello.  This is Ian with Party Go Round.   I just wanted to let you know that we will be arriving approximately between 3:15 - 3:30.  Thank you!"

Greeting the Customer:
Upon arrival, knock on the door/ring doorbell.  Greet the customer politely with a smile and introduce yourself.  Confirm the item(s) of the rental and ask where we will be setting up.  Most of the time it will be the backyard.  Inform them that you will meet them around back or they will walk with you.  DO NOT ENTER THE HOUSE.

Assessing the Setup Location (VERY IMPORTANT):

Placement is the key element.  Be familiar with the unit you are delivering.  A good idea is to ask where people will be hanging out, then picture yourself standing in that area and looking at the unit.  Feel free to pull a picture of the unit up on the website to show the customer what it looks like and explain how it's going to sit.  This is also the time to ask where the outlet is to plug in and where the water spigot is if it's a water unit.

The most important elements are:

Will the customer have a clear view of the inflatable for supervision?

Does the unit look like it's "supposed to be there".  For most parties, the inflatable is the centerpiece for the event so make sure it makes a statement in its location.

The customer may say something like, "aim the slide towards the house so we can see the kids coming down the slide".  Be sure that they know that on our combos that their view will more than likely be blocked that way.  Ideally you'd want to be looking at the entrance and the slide to the left, which will give you the best view of the action.

Make sure there is plenty of clearance not only around the unit, but also above.  Be sure and look out for low hanging limbs or branches from trees, and especially overhead power lines.  Make sure the ground is free of debris like sticks, animal waste and sharp objects.

Also, when possible make sure the blower is further away from the conversation.  Also, nobody wants to see the back of the unit during their party.

Make sure that you stretch the cord and the hose well out of the way of where people will be walking so it's not a tripping hazard.   NEVER PLUG IN TWO 50' CORDS TOGETHER.  Ideally you want to use as little cord as possible.  If you only need a 50' extension cord, just use that if the cord can stay out of the way.  Otherwise, use a 100' cord.

Installation of the Inflatable:

First, you'll want to set up your tarp.  You want the tarp to be about 3' closer than your unit entrance will be.  The idea of the tarp is to keep the yard from getting muddy and keep the unit cleaner so you want the tarp to be laid where there will be foot traffic.

Set the unit in the appropriate place to roll it out.  Take the strap off and roll out the unit.  THIS IS WHEN YOU SHOULD START CLEANING.  Clean the side of the unit that will be facing the customer first.  CLEANING IS KEY.  Get the unit cleaned as quickly as possible.  Sometimes we have to clean on delivery so it's important that the cleaning is done as you are rolling it out.  While it's still on the ground, this is a great time to be able to make sure the top of the unit is cleaned and the parts you won't be able to reach once the unit is blown up.

Next you'll want to connect the blower.  When plugging in the blower, make sure to WRAP THE BLOWER CORD AND EXTENSION CORD IN A NOT.  THIS IS A MUST.  This is to prevent the blower from becoming unplugged if someone trips on the cord.  Make sure that you pull the blower tube of the unit well over the "snout" of the blower.  Make sure the strap goes securely around the blower and behind the lip of the blower.  Go ahead and turn the blower on.  Before wrapping the strap of the unit around the blower, go ahead and tie up the other blower tube and make sure all the zippers are zipped.  Now go back to the blower and make sure the blower tube is straight and blowing as much air as possible into the unit.  Now take the strap from the unit and tie it around the blower tube where your other strap is to make sure the blower is double strapped.

Cleaning the Inflatable:

Spray the inflatable down with the spray in the bottles and wipe them down.  CLEANING IS SUPER IMPORTANT.  Clean the outside of the inflatable first.  Make sure to get the hard to reach spots up top and at the bottom as well.  Use the standard cleaning solution for the entire unit.  If you have some tough spots to clean, get more heavy duty cleaner from the truck.  You may occasionally need mold remover.  After you've cleaned the outside, go inside with a leaf blower and get out all the debris.  Be sure and collect the debris immediately and either put it in your pocket, in a bag or in the truck.  Then clean the inside of the inflatable thoroughly.  This isn't just so the unit looks clean, but so the unit is sanitary and safe.  Pay extra attention to high traffic areas and areas that are physically touched.

Safety Briefing, Operating Instructions & Inspection:

Provide the customer with a safety briefing and clear instructions on how to operate the inflatable safely. Hand them a printed out sheet of the rules and go over each rule with them.  You may also find that same list of rules HERE.  Be sure and familiarize yourself with these safe operating procedures as SAFETY IS OUR #1 PRIORITY.  Conduct a final inspection with the customer present to ensure the inflatable is in good condition and securely installed.

Departure:

Confirm with the customer that they are satisfied with the installation and understand the operating and safety instructions.  At this point, allow them to ask any questions they may have.  Hand them a business card and tell them to please feel free to contact us if they have any questions or concerns during their rental.  Be sure and clean up and debris or packaging related to the installation.  Let them know that Party Go Round will be in touch about a pickup time if that has not already been discussed.  Thank them for choosing Party Go Round and tell them you hope they have a great time.
